Taapsee added that while they didn't expect the film to achieve an abrupt change, the thought was to begin a discussion. "It is occurring. We need to distinguish the issue. I'm not saying Thappad will change things in our general public. Aisa toh nahi hai Pink ke baad assault sharpen band ho gaye. (It will begin a discussion) That is all we need. We should simply not standardize it, how about we question it. Is it alright? No, it's not alright." 

She added, "It was a cognizant choice on sir's part that he needed to keep it one slap. He might have effectively made it into an aggressive behavior at home film. Yet, he needed to make it just a single slap. Since who chooses ek theek hai, dus theek nahi hai? (1 slap is alright, 10 are not?)."
